  • In the morning, we will "break down" the script and a various "breakdowns" to analyze any information on tone and the team behind the project - then dig deeper on skills to help you create the backstory and build the character for your audition and performance.

  • "Going Off Script'" - SUNDAY - May 18, 2025
  • Did you know casting is not allowed to ask you improv an audition for a union television show or feature film without compensating you? (And Commercials are their own special nightmare!)

  • Still, "one the day," you might find yourself on set with a creator and cast who love improvisation and be asked to improv along with the actors on a show such as "The Righteous Gemstones" or a comedic film like "Magic Mike XXL."

  • In the morning, we will discuss the importance of staying on script, but also the freedom in playing the purpose of a scene by focusing on choices, utilizing basic tools of improv and how they can apply them in the audition room, in prep for the day of work and on set. Participants will also use improv skills for a mock commercial audition.

  • In the afternoon, participants will work scenes "on the page" with a redirect that is goes "off the page."
